Lender to unveil new Director and products
A secured loans lender, which will be announcing a host of product enhancements next week, is to appoint an industry heavyweight as its new Director of Sales.
Paul Brett will join the Masthaven Secured Loans as its new Director of Sales from Monday next week and a host of product enhancements will be exclusively revealed by Loan Talk in next week’s newsletter.
Paul joins from the personal asset lender borro, having been at the lender since October 2010. He said: “borro’s been fantastic for me personally and professionally over the last three years and I wish them much success in the future.”
When prompted on reasons for the move to Masthaven SL, he responded: “I wanted to go back to my roots, with 25 years in the property and lending industry, and I’m really looking forward to joining the Masthaven team.
“I’ve always been a supporter of the broker and the packager, especially in today’s climate where there is a real opportunity for brokers to convert opportunities for their clients.
“Masthaven has a very strong foundation, backed by the William Pears Group, and the timing was right to move. We’re at the beginning of a strong growth curve.”
Talking about working with Stuart Aitken, COO of Masthaven SL, again, he said: “Stuart and I worked together at SPML back in the late 1990s. He’s a detailed man who is all about ensuring there is great service for brokers and the borrower, and is very good at looking at risk in terms of credit. The service levels at Masthaven SL are reminiscent of those SPML days, and brokers are already shouting about the quality experience they have had to date and I hope to add to that.
Stuart Aitken, COO of Masthaven Secured Loans, said of the appointment: “I’ve known Paul for around 15 years since he worked at SPML.
“He’s got great experience as a lender, a broker, a packager, a consultant, and even a mortgage underwriter when he was at Southern Pacific. He’s a real starter and creates things, such as a packagers association.
“The breadth of his experience is very rare and he has many different approaches focusing particularly on the broker and intermediary-introduced market.
“It’s unusual to have his array of experience from a credit background within a sales-focused role. He has detailed knowledge of how to build a broker network and knows what brokers and ultimately what their clients need.
In order to make sure that Paul hits the ground running and has some momentum, Masthaven SL will be announcing a number of upcoming product improvements, which Loan Talk can exclusively reveal in next week’s newsletter. They will also be launching a new product in October.
