FCA authorises guarantor lender
Guarantor lender 1Plus1 Loans has secured full authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The Accrington-based firm claims to be the third guarantor lender to have become fully authorised.
Gary McKenna, director of 1Plus1 Loans, said: “The FCA [has] been very approachable and consistent throughout, and as a lender in the guarantor loan sector, we feel they have already helped to improve the reputation of our industry.”
1Plus1 Loans will now embark on a major expansion programme in order to compete with larger lenders.
Gary added: “We will be running an extensive marketing campaign in the coming months as well as increasing the intermediary side of our business.
“Over the past 18 months we have invested heavily in our processing systems, and although we are technology-led, we try to take a commonsense approach with inquiries that others turn away because they don’t fit within a pre-determined profile.
“Moving forward we are already exploring new markets and we will be adding to our product range as we aim to increase our market share.”
Founded in 2013, 1Plus1 Loans offers instalment loans of between £500 and £5,000 to clients who are able to provide a guarantor to support their application.
