The foreign secretary appeared at Target alongside Angela Jones-Evans (pictured above, centre), the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Newport West.

Target employs over 1,000 people in the south Wales area and has posted four consecutive years of strong growth.

Last year, the group was acquired by global multi-national specialist in digital transformation Tech Mahindra as it looked to embark on the latest phase of its development.

“The visit is recognition of the continued success of the company and the contribution Target Group has made to Wales and the wider UK economy,” said Bill Alley, co-group CEO at Target Group (pictured above, far left).

“The fact that such a high-profile government figure is keen to learn more about what we do is testament to the growth of the company and the hard work, dedication and talent of our staff as they make that success possible.”

Target assists several large organisations, including Shawbrook Bank, Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs.

Mr Johnson said he had no doubt that Target would continue to go from strength to strength.

“Target Group is a great example of global Britain and what can be achieved by bringing together like-minded and hardworking individuals.

“The company has grown exponentially over the years and it is great to see it now develop an international footprint following its acquisition by Tech Mahindra.”

Mrs Jones-Evans added that Target had made an invaluable contribution to the local economy in south Wales.

“It has created numerous jobs and been a great example of what can be achieved if an organisation commits itself to the area and its people.

“We are delighted they are here and wish them every success in the future.”
